To toast pecans in the oven:
- To prep for baking, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- After prepping your baking sheet (lining it with parchment paper or foil), toss the pecans in oil and salt (if desired) and arrange them in a single layer.Toast the mixture, stirring occasionally, until browned and fragrant, for about 7 to 10 minutes.
- After removing from the oven, chop the mixture for desired use or store it whole in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
To toast pecans on the stove:
- For a nutty topping, toss pecans in oil and salt (if desired), then heat them in a medium skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until browned and fragrant (about 2 to 5 minutes).
