Description
A simple and refreshing homemade lemonade recipe! You only need three ingredients (sugar, water, and lemons, and does water count as an ingredient?) to make this classic drink recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups of water, divided (1.4 liters)
- 1 cup of granulated sugar (200 grams)
- 1 cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice (seeds removed, pulp may remain) (236 milliliters)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup (236ml) of water with 1 cup of sugar, then place it over medium-low heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved before removing it from heat and allowing it to cool for 10 minutes.
- Pour 1 cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice into a pitcher and add the sugar-water mixture (simple syrup).
- Add the remaining 5 cups (1420ml) of water, stir well, and then pour over ice to serve, or transfer to the refrigerator to chill for several hours before serving.
Notes
- I really recommend fresh squeezed lemon juice, but my brother often achieves great results with this recipe using bottled lemon juice.
